Aside from defeating the Archdemon with her bare hands (and a little help from her magic) as the Hero of Ferelden, Solona Amell is a famous mage and also known as the firstborn of the late Revka Amell and the second cousin of the famous Champion of Kirkwall. She grew up in the Circle of Ferelden and remembers very little of her past, being taken there when she was very young. Because her magic manifested in her at such an early age with such power, she was deemed a prodigy by most of the Senior Enchanters and was even placed under the cautious yet compassionate eyes of First Enchanter Irving. She trained mostly with the elements among other things, mastering the Primary School of Magic with ease before moving onto tackling the healing arts, persuaded by one of her close friends in the Circle, and various other spells. Her ambition, with the help of a little a mishap, eventually awarded her with the chance to leave the Circle with the Grey Wardens and the rest is written in the history books. Well, most of it is written, at least.

Amell is known for her bright spirit, charm and her eagerness to help those in need though she can be quite aggressive and persuasive when she wants something. She handles problems with quick wit and at the same time, weighs the pros and the cons of each situation before taking action. She specializes in three classes of magic namely as a Spirit Healer, finding caring for others to be such a rewarding task (though she's a bit shit at it); an Arcane Warrior, as a result of her eying her companions with envy as they walked around looking 'oh-so-dashing' in heavy armor; and as a Battlemage, because the adrenaline rush she feels at the heart of every battle is just too exhilarating for her to pass up.

Nowadays, when she's not too busy hunting darkspawn as the Warden-Commander and dealing with bothersome nobles as the Arlessa of Amaranthine through letters, Solona spends her time working on setting up a Warden outpost in the outskirts of Kirkwall to keep watch on the newly discovered entrances to the Deep Roads in the Free Marches area.
