Solona had been giving it some thought ever since Anders brought it up. Escape the tower together? Her, Nellie, him and even Cullen? It was crazy but the way Anders explained it, it just might work. Surprisingly, Cullen agreed to do it, with Nellie's powers of persuasion of course.
So now the four of them are off to escape the Tower. Hopefully everything goes according to plan.

"So, there's a secret exit by the Sisters' quarters for emergency purposes." She turns to Cullen. "You, my good ser, since you are part of this and you are bound by love, cannot escape 'lest you want to disappoint my sister forever..." Cullen gulps. "You are going to sneak out a few robes for the three of us. It'll be late in the night and no one really pays attention when they're sleepy-- especially when they're just wearing the robes."
"But what about our belongings?" Cullen interjects. They didn't have much, around a pack each of two spare changes of clothing-- not robes, and Cullen would have to get rid of his armor somehow (maybe sell them), and a few other things. Solona had a few books, some money and a small doll from when she was younger. Cullen had his pouch of lyrium. Templars didn't really take much with them to the Circle.
"Just keep them close. Cullen, I'm sure you can hide them inside that armor of yours," she smirks.
"Funny," he retorts. But it was true. He'd be walking a bit awkwardly but he could hide his things in it.
"So, once we're out, we look for a boat," Solona continues. "Anders thankfully asked someone to leave it hidden among some shrubbery during his last escape attempt."
Cullen grunts. Escape attempt. He was always against it yet look at him now. Escaping.
"Would you like to finish the rest of the plan?" Solona turns to Anders. "It is, after all, your master plan."
no subject
"Once we get to the boat, which should still be there, we're going to take it and head in the direction of Redcliffe. They won't be expecting that, see. Once we make land, we can head down towards Lothering, or up towards the coast. Where we go depends on how we are on supplies and whether or not we've got people following us."
He looks rather proud of all of this. As far as his plans go, this is one of the better ones. Doesn't involve swimming, at any rate...
"Any objections?"
no subject
At her sister's comment, Nellie rolls her eyes and turns to Cullen.
"You wouldn't disappoint me forever, don't listen to her."
If he backed out now, it would hurt, and she'd be upset...but she'd at least understand. She hopes he doesn't do that.
She's only got a few possessions to bring with her. The letters that her mother used to write her, her favorite book, an extra set of robes, a little money, and a doll that Solona made for her when they first got to the Gallows.
"If somebody asks us on the road where we're going or something like that, do we have a story to tell them? I mean, it's not going to be easy for Cullen to get rid of his armor..."
And part of her likes seeing him in the templar armor. But she's not going to say that, instead choosing to squeeze Cullen's hand again.
no subject
"Or else what, Cullen?" Solona sneers. "You'd be neck deep in shit with the rest of us."
no subject
Nellie sighs and gives them a tired smile. She's always keeping the peace between then. They fight a lot.
"Cullen, if you've got a problem with the plan, you can say something...and nobody give him crap about it, okay?"
She shoots Solona and Anders A Look, which just makes Anders chuckle a bit.
no subject
Cullen grumbles. He squeezes Nellie's hand just to calm down. He was a bit afraid he might break her fingers.
"Alright, all kidding aside, let's get to business," Solona says, her tone of voice immediately shifting to a lower tone. "Cullen, I know this is a bit last minute to ask of you but we need those robes now. Midnight's coming around soon and if we're going to break out by tonight, we have to do this quickly."
Cullen nods. "I can be back within the hour. I'm not exactly the best person at sneaking around." At least she was more sane when talking about serious business.
no subject
"You're giving him crap and you know it. You won't let him lighten up, sister..."
Nellie turns to Cullen, giving him a quick kiss on the cheek.
"I know you can do it, Cullen...good luck."
Anders, behind then, makes a retching sound, mumbling something about how Nellie and Cullen were going to make him sick.
no subject
Cullen sighs, then groans, then finally lets go of Nellie's hand. If he was going to do it, he was going to do it. He kisses her cheek. He was doing this for her.
"I'll be back," he whispers, giving her a small smile before exiting the room.
"Oh, how sweet," Solona smiles. She playfully hits Anders on the shoulder. "You never do that for me."
no subject
Anders, meanwhile, mimics a wince as Solona hits him in the shoulder.
"Dear, I think if you and I were that sweet, we'd both be dead. Or if I tried to do that, you'd thought I was after something...."
Which may be true. He does have a good time with Sol...
no subject
Cullen grimaces as he walks down the hallways towards the storage room. He could find the robes and hide them in his armor but Maker, the pressure! What if someone found out? What if the plan didn't work? He was sweating. Sweating like a pig. Maker, help him.
But he manages to get the robes with ease and is back inside the room. He's breathing heavily though. Oh, the pressure. He takes the robes from within his armor and hands it to Anders.
no subject
"Solona, why do you think you're my best pal? You always want something!"
He smacks her lightly in the arm, before leaning in and giving her an oddly affectionate kiss on the cheek. Before he can say anything else, though, Cullen is back.
He takes the robes with a grin, giving the templar a nod.
"Well, I'll be. Step one, complete with no problems! We're off to a good start!!"
no subject
Cullen blushes. "A-a-are you all going to ch-change here?"
no subject
Anders smirks and rolls his eyes.
"I believe that Nellie has made her decision. We'll change and meet back up here in 3 minutes. Last one back is a rotten egg."
no subject
Leaving Anders and Cullen in the same room. And Maker, it was awkward. Cullen just stands there, eyeing Anders skeptically. He was just so carefree. How could they just place their lives in the hands of this idiot?
no subject
"Sorry, Sol...It's just...well, Cullen and I haven't...well, you know."
There's is still a young relationship, and they're both too shy and nervous to move past those early steps.
In the other room, meanwhile, Anders is grinning like a look, raising an eyebrow at Cullen.
"SO! Freedom. You ready to taste it?"
He starts changing while waiting for Cullen to respond. He can't imagine the man became a templar of his own will...who would do that?
no subject
Cullen just stares at Anders, a blank expression on his face. This was the mage that caused him long nights of sealing off entrances and patrolling the hallways. And now he's escaping with him. Maker, preserve him.
On Freedom, however, Cullen's not quite sure how to feel. He's technically always been free. He chooses not to respond and just turns away.
"You'll taste your freedom if this plan works."
no subject
Anders just laughs, changing into the robes.
"Well, did you have a choice in becoming a templar? Or coming here to the Circle? Freedom is about choice. Example, I'm choosing to leave and never come back!"
Cullen never struck him as a terrible guy. He treated mages a lot better than some of the other templars in the tower did, and he obviously adored Nellie, so he had to be an okay guy. Besides, he was now officially their accomplice.
Nellie and Solona emerge from the other room, and Anders whistles.
"Maker, Solona. You look sinfully good in that outfit."
no subject
Solona chuckles, making a little turn. "I'm dressed as a Chantry sister. Dream of yours, Anders?" Her eyebrow quirks.
no subject
"How did you know? You'd better plan on keeping that robe for a while, Sol."
Nellie goes red and rolls her eyes at the antics of Solona and Anders, instead choosing to squeeze Cullen's hand, giving him a small smile.
"Are you okay, love?"
no subject
Solona rolls her eyes at Anders. "I'll make sure to save some space in my pack just for it." But now was time to move. "Are we all ready to head out?"
no subject
"It'l be okay, love. I promise it'll be okay. Anders knows what he's doing...and once we're out, you'll feel better. I promise."
Anders mimics a gagging motion behind them, before responding to Solona.
"Let's go. Come on, I've got an escape tunnel here in the Tower."
no subject
Cullen on the other hand is blushing. His face is as red as Solona's hair, which was saying something. He mumbles something apologetically and looks away quickly.
Solona smirks again, taking her pack and adjusting it on her back. "Well then, let's get a move on."
no subject
"Lead the way, Anders."
Anders nods and motions for them to follow him. Nellie grabs her pack of things and follows Anders and her sister, not letting go of Cullen's hand.
no subject
"Love, you might need to let go of my hand for a while..." Cullen whispers to Nellie. "A Templar holding a Sister's hand is a bit alarming to most."
no subject
Anders rolls his eyes in front of them. Everything is going well so far...they manage to make it to his exit tunnel without any trouble, and he leads them in without trouble.
